The Witcher

"He uses his legendary power and lifelong training to protect the innocent by hunting the vile fiends that ravage the land."

"But not all monsters are evil..."

"And not everything fair is good"

The Witcher series is based around the Witcher Geralt of Rivia. Witchers are monster hunters that undergo extensive training, ruthless mental and physical conditioning, and mysterious rituals that take place in Witcher schools. People say Witchers are stripped of emotion, but as shown by Geralt, this is sometimes more of an excuse than an exact truth.

The Witcher world is based in the Continent, which is prominently divided into the Four Kingdoms to the North, and the Nilfgaardian Empire. Although Humans rule the kingdoms, the continent also homes dwarves, elves, halflings, and many other creatures. These creatures are considered second-class citizens to humans however, and there is always anger, snobbery and distrust between them.

Witchers make their way in the world by protecting the innocent from the monsters that threaten the land, and receiving payment for doing so. However, things are not as black and white as they may seem. The real "monsters" are not always those of a devilish appearance, and can just as likely be those with deceitful intentions. Unlike most of the world around him, Geralt is aware of this, and sees everyone as equal, unless proven otherwise...
